Mosquito Facts
- Malaria, just one of the mosquito-borne diseases, kills more than a million people each year.
- The word "mosquito" is Spanish for "little fly." There are over 2500 different kinds of mosquitoes and a worldwide population of 100 trillion!
- There are over 170 known species of mosquitoes in North America. A number of species have been accidentally introduced from other parts of the world.
- Depending on species, female mosquitoes lay 100 to 300 eggs at a time and may average 1,000 to 3,000 during their lifespan.
Why the Mosquito Slayer?
If you take the time to do the research you will come to the same conclusion that we did: the Mosquito Slayer is more effective and less expensive than any of its competitors! Here is what we found:
- In 1998, the American Biophysics Corporation introduced the Mosquito Magnet™. It proved far more effective at catching mosquitoes than other machines available at that time.
- In 2000, Andrew Coventry, the Australian inventor of the Mega-Catch™ licensed the use of this
technology to EnviroSafe Technologies of New Zealand. The Mega-Catch has been shown through
scientific studies
to clearly outperform other machines, including the Mosquito Magnet. (You may notice that none of their tests compare the Mega-Catch to the Mosquito Slayer!)
- While EnviroSafe was content to bring the Mega-catch to market, Andrew Coventry wanted to make further refinements in his machine to enhance not only its mosquito-catching capacity but its ability to catch other biting insects as well. So, Mr. Coventry continued his research and development and it resulted in the Mosquito Slayer, which he introduced in 2002.
