While we have great faith in the Mosquito Slayer, it should not be your only course of action in protecting yourself from mosquitoes:
- Eliminate sources of standing water — the mosquito's breeding ground — from your property.
- "Mosquito dunks" can be placed in areas of standing water that can not be eliminated. They are donut shaped cakes that produce a toxin specific to mosquito and blackfly larvae when ingested.
- Spraying non-toxic oils, such as vegetable or garlic oils, onto areas of standing water will interfere with the larval development of the mosquito.
- Your Mosquito Slayer will not protect you when you go on that hike an hour away from home. Take sensible precautions: bring long sleeved clothing and consider using one of the non-toxic repellents available.
