Lactic acid is found in human sweat and is an attractant to the female mosquito. Lactic Lure™ mimics this attractant. Lactic Lure™ also contains the scent of nectar which is another attractant.
The Lactic Lure™ formulation is particularly attractive to the Asian Tiger mosquito which carries West Nile Virus. It is also very attractive to black flies, and is the single advancement in the Mosquito Slayer that is most responsible for its enhanced ability to catch black flies.
The Mosquito Magnet, on the other hand, makes you choose between using octenol and an attractant that mimics sweat. Only the Mosquito Slayer uses both of these important attractants at the same time.
The Mega-Catch does not use any lure that mimics sweat.
